Albert E. Dotson, Jr. Reappointed To Federal Judicial Nominating Commission Of Florida

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced that Government Relations & Land Development practice group leader, Albert E. Dotson, Jr., was reappointed to a third term on Florida's Federal Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC). The JNC recommends qualified candidates for presidential appointments as U.S. District Court Judges, U.S. attorneys and U.S. marshals in Florida.

Mr. Dotson was first appointed in 2009 by Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio and was reappointed to a second term in 2011.

Mr. Dotson represents clients in securing federal and local government procurement contracts and obtaining land use and zoning permits for large-scale real estate developments. As legal counsel in key public-private partnerships in South Florida, he represents SBACE in its $1 billion bid to redevelop the Miami Beach Convention Center and previously secured a $300 million contract for Italian transportation company AnsaldoBreda to supply a new fleet of Metrorail cars to Miami-Dade Transit.

Mr. Dotson has been consistently recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and was featured as a 2013 "Heavy Hitter in Commercial Real Estate" by the South Florida Business Journal. Mr. Dotson is a board member and past president of The Orange Bowl Committee, Chairman Emeritus and board member of 100 Black Men of America, and a member of United Way of Miami-Dade's Advisory Council.
