International Arbitration & Dispute Resolution

Bilzin Sumberg is seeking a partner candidate with 10+ years experience overseeing international litigation and dispute resolution through international arbitration. Practice will include representing both domestic and foreign multi-national corporations that conduct business in the United States and abroad, including South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Partners should have previous experience handling complex international arbitration matters before the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Associate and/or the International Center for Dispute Resolution on matters concerning common law, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act, corporate governance asset tracing, cross-border interim relief, investment disputes, sovereign immunity challenges to class actions, unfair trade practices and/or contract disputes.

Candidates who have served as an arbitrator in international commercial disputes will be favorably considered.

Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP is seeking a senior associate or junior partner with 5+ years sophisticated experience aiding both domestic and foreign clients in estate planning and wealth preservation, including traditional estate planning; advanced strategies to minimize estate, gift and generation-skipping taxes; multi-generational tax planning; international tax-planning for both citizens and non-citizens; implementing strategic charitable giving plans; probate and trust administration; and representing clients in all controversies and litigation arising from the administration of estates and trusts, including wills and trusts contests. Candidates must possess an LLM in estate planning and strong interpersonal skills & work ethic to effectively interact with clients and their accountants and investment advisors.

Summer Associate Program

Our firm is committed to continue hiring and retaining the finest attorneys, which enables us to provide the highest level of service and value to our clients. We believe that our Summer Associate program is a critical link in that process.

Our Summer Associates are recruited from among the country´s most outstanding law schools. Our on-campus interviewing has included Harvard, Yale, Columbia, New York University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, Georgetown University, University of Florida and University of Miami.

We begin the process with our recruiting committee carefully reviewing resumes of potential candidates and interviewing pre-screened candidates on campus. We then invite a select group of applicants to our office for a full day of interviewing. Offers are made to those candidates whose combination of academic performance and personal qualities lead us to believe that they will contribute to and thrive in our firm´s culture and environment.

Our Summer Associate program is intended to provide a real world experience to our Summer Associates. Although we have a significant number of social events planned throughout the summer, both within and outside the office, we believe that it is in the best interest of the firm and the Summer Associates to experience the manner in which we practice law. This is accomplished by having Summer Associates attend and participate in client conferences, and attend court hearings, trials and closings. Typically, the Summer Associates have done related work and have contributed to the particular conference call, hearing, trial or closing. Each Summer Associate is encouraged and given the opportunity to handle assignments in a variety of practice areas. Our experience and the feedback from our Summer Associates shows that this approach provides our Summer Associates with the best opportunity to interact with the largest possible number of our attorneys and gain a meaningful insight into the practice of law. Additionally, we hold in-house luncheon seminars for the Summer Associates on various topics to help acquaint them with the practical aspects of practicing law that law schools do not address.

Non-Attorney Positions

Senior Financial Analyst

Bilzin Sumberg is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience doing financial reporting, analysis and financial modeling. Job responsibilities include preparation of monthly management reports, industry surveys, compiling and analyzing large volumes of data, producing ad hoc reports and producing written analysis of the reports prepared. Reporting responsibilities include analysis of various performance measurements, analysis of revenues and budgets, trend analysis, profitability, compensation analysis and business metrics review. This is a key position in the finance and accounting team, reporting directly to the CFO. The position also works closely with the firm's Executive Director, Managing Partner, and Accounting Manager.

Requirements:

Accounting or Finance degree
Superior analytical and financial modeling capabilities, ability to analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
Advanced proficiency in Excel including pivot tables
Demonstrated experience in building advanced queries and reports
Aderant (CMS) or Elite experience
Experience with Redwood Analytics
Proven problem solving skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Good written communications skills
Able to work with limited supervision, self-starter, multi-tasker

Preferred:

Law industry or professional services firm experience.
