Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) antitrust litigation
Represent two electronic distributors in the prosecution of the claims against the major world-wide manufacturers of TFT-LCD panels. The complaints in these actions allege that the LCD manufacturers conspired to control production capacity, raise prices or slow their decline, allocate customers, and otherwise unlawfully overcharge their customers both with respect to LCD panels and products containing LCD panels in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act as well as the California Cartwright Act and the Florida Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Collectively, Bilzin Sumberg's clients are seeking damages of over $1 billion. Because of the size and complexity of the claims and defenses asserted by the various parties, the LCD case has raised a number of important legal and factual issues that have never been decided in any other antitrust case.
