Bilzin Sumberg Presents The May 17th Third Annual Service Juris Day Hosted By Hands On Miami

Miami, Florida, May 19, 2008 The law firm of Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP was the presenting sponsor at this weekend´s Third Annual Service Juris Day, hosted by Hands On Miami.

Attorneys, staff and the families of Bilzin Sumberg volunteered as part of the Bilzin Sumberg Cares initiative, an employee-based community volunteer program that was conceived in 2007 and sprang from the firm´s commitment to the positive development of the community, to benefit the South Florida community.

Service Juris Day is a one-day community service project that engages the Miami-Dade county lawyers, judges, publicists, and other members of the legal community, in a meaningful service project. Dade County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section co-hosted the event. Volunteers transformed the Juvenile Justice Center and Miami Dade Regional Juvenile Center by adding vibrant color, new toys and furniture, enhanced gardens and increased workspace.

Bilzin Sumberg´s commitment to the community and Hands On Miami extends far beyond the office, and stems from a genuine desire to better the people and places around it. Bilzin Sumberg Cares and Hands On Miami have formed a unique partnership, where the firm has taken a strong leadership in giving back to the community through financial and active commitment.

What makes Bilzin Sumberg Cares so unique is that is goes beyond a pro bono services and traditional ways of giving, by focusing on the benefit derived by encouraging the workforce to participate in enhancing the community in which we live. It is an employee-driven community involvement program designed to provide year-round support for South Florida organizations. With its unique, whole-year approach, Bilzin Sumberg Cares has the capacity to affect real change in the lives of deserving individuals, while allowing staff and their families to develop a lasting bond with those they help.
