Bilzin Sumberg Honored With 2008 John Edward Smith Child Advocacy Award

Miami, Florida, April 18, 2008 The law firm of Bilzin Sumberg announces today that it won the John Edward Smith Child Advocacy Award, which is presented to law firms that demonstrate a strong commitment to providing pro bono services to Lawyers for Children America ("LFCA").

Due to Bilzin Sumberg´s continuous commitment to community service through various initiatives, including pro bono representation of children in the Greater Miami area as well as hosting training sessions for volunteers of LFCA, the firm has been selected for the second time since 1995, when LFCA was established in Miami.

More than ten percent of our attorneys are involved with Lawyers for Children America, one of the numerous organizations the firm provides pro bono services to. These attorneys provide legal representation for children in the juvenile justice and family law courts, most of which are dependants of the state. In addition, attorneys represent the children´s interests to ensure that they receive the needed services to encourage school attendance, graduation and job placement.
