Affordable Housing Associate

Bilzin Sumberg is seeking an associate with 1+ years of experience to join our Affordable Housing & Tax Credit practice. The ideal candidate will have experience representing developers, lenders, or investors in complex real estate and project finance transactions, including matters involving low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), tax-exempt bonds, and layered public and private financing structures. This role will work closely with partners to advise developers and investors on the structuring, negotiation, and closing of affordable housing transactions and requires exceptional attention to detail.

Strong academic credentials and major law firm experience are preferred. Admission to the Florida Bar, or eligibility for admission, is required.

CMBS and Real Estate Capital Markets Associate

Bilzin Sumberg is seeking an associate with 6+ years of experience in drafting and negotiating transaction documents with a focus on finance agreements, modifications, consents and workouts. The ideal candidate will join our CMBS and Real Estate Capital Markets Group, working alongside experienced practitioners on complex commercial real estate finance matters for performing and non-performing loans nationwide, representing CMBS loan servicers, special servicers, and institutional lenders on a variety of business and legal matters. Strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills and admission to the Florida Bar (or eligibility for admission) are required. Preference will be given to candidates with CMBS industry experience, major law firm employment history, and Spanish language skills. Candidates who meet some but not all of the preferred qualifications are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising public companies and underwriters on equity and debt offerings under the Securities Act of 1933, including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, and Rule 144A private placements. Candidates should have a deep understanding of SEC disclosure obligations, stock exchange listing requirements, and public company reporting.
