Staff Accountant

Bilzin Sumberg is seeking a Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of accounting experience doing routine accounting functions, as well as financial reporting. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Job responsibilities:

Manage QuickBooks for PA operating accounts
Balance cash daily: receipts and disbursements 
Prepare and post all journal entries to the general ledger
Assist with preparation of monthly management reports
Reconcile various Firm related and other partnership investment accounts on a monthly basis and post reconciling entries to general ledger
Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies
Assist in the preparation of year-end schedules
Assist with the preparation of ad-hoc reports and special projects
Assist with new process and system implementations; testing, pilot administration, training, procedure documentation, and go live roll out and post implementation review
Backup personnel for Trust transactions
Manage the recording and tracking of all fixed asset purchases and depreciation
Reconcile petty cash monthly
Back up for preparing weekly time reports, monitor and track late/missing time
Assist Accounting Manager with recording, daily recap review, and other responsibilities

Education/Skill Requirements:

Accounting or Finance degree
Proficiency in Excel
Experience working with G/L and posting J/E's
Proven problem solving skills
Accuracy and highly detail oriented
Good written and oral communications skills
Excellent organizational skills
Aderant or equivalent experience 
Law firm or professional services firm experience preferred
