Q & A
What issues keep your clients up at night?
Global economic and political uncertainty is what keeps most people operating in real estate markets up at night. Lenders, as well as domestic and foreign real estate investors, all need some level of predictability in order to confidently embark on complex long-term projects. At this point, the fact that our world has become much smaller means economic and political instability in South America ripples in Miami and beyond. Clients want to know that we understand and take their concerns into consideration when we advise them.
What do you consider to be some of your key differentiators?
My prior experience as a researcher in sociology, coupled with having lived in three very different countries, has greatly improved my ability to understand and relate to a variety of perspectives. Clients are reassured when they see their attorney understands where they are coming from and where they want to go. In addition, my prior experience in litigation forces me to always think ahead and imagine how contracts can be interpreted in a different way, or may be unhelpful to our clients' goals if changes occur. These experiences help me protect my clients' interests.
