Q & A
How has your work in special servicing changed over the years?
I've been representing servicers since 2003, so I understand where my focus needs to be. Most recently, I've seen a change in the requirements of the loan pools, including a greater requirement for documentation and an increase in the notice requirements to third parties owning interests in the pools.
How is your practice evolving to benefit your clients?
We are standardizing our documents and procedures, where it makes sense to, in order to be more efficient on behalf of our clients. This approach allows us to keep client costs down. My responsibility is to manage the modifications borrowers are trying to make while providing for the appropriate protections for our lenders in their loan documents.
