Christina Riley Martinez
Of Counsel

Christina represents two of the largest special servicers of commercial mortgage-backed securities in the country handling commercial loan assumptions, loan modifications and workouts, transfers of interest, property management changes, and REO sales. She also has experience negotiating franchise documents on behalf of special servicers in connection with hotel assumptions, transfers of interest, and franchise renewals.

Christina has represented lenders and special servicers through both downturns and upswings in the real estate market. Her experience representing lenders as a litigation attorney during the height of the last downturn has brought a unique perspective to her practice. She understands which elements of a deal might become a key point during litigation and uses that knowledge to effectively negotiate deals for her clients.

Q & A
What sets you apart as an attorney?

Detail-orientated by nature. it is always my goal to review multi-layered transactions with a fine-tooth comb in an attempt to avert potential complications for our clients down the road.

How have your relationships with clients or co-counsel extended beyond the office?

One of my colleagues, who served as co-counsel on several transactions, invited me to participate in a charitable tennis organization.  Together, we organize and plan tennis events across the globe raising funds for cancer research. Today, Cancer Research Racquet continues to bring thousands of business professionals and athletes together for a great cause.
