Q & A
What does your relationship with your clients look like?
I want clients to look at me more as a colleague, someone who has a deep understanding of the culture and inner workings of their business, rather than just "outside counsel."  It is critical to understand the roles, responsibilities, and personalities of the individual employees, how each department operates, and how they all function both separately and as part of a cohesive whole. I want them to say, "Brandon knows our business and just gets it. He's our guy to quickly identify the problem, and then create the solution."
How do you tackle clients' issues?
Great attorneys make their clients' issues a priority, regardless of the size of those issues. When clients call me, they know they have my full attention, energy and tenacity to find a solution.  My primary focus is to efficiently provide the best solution for my clients' issues, without sacrificing an ounce of quality, thoroughness and consideration in the final work product.
How does Bilzin Sumberg support your commitment to the community?
I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people who needed the specialized help of an attorney. Through Lawyers for Children, a program I became involved in thanks to a partner at the firm, I have become the Attorney Ad Litem for a young girl who was removed from her home. Beyond the legal work I have provided for her, I think it is important for young people such as my client, to have a positive older figure to be a presence during their development.  Providing guidance and advocacy are both necessary and invaluable, but as important is being available to simply listen. Bilzin Sumberg has fully supported me in my role as an Attorney Ad Litem, and all of my charitable work for that matter, and I am immensely grateful for that.

Representation of Colin Veitch, former President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Lines, in his lawsuit against the Virgin Group. Veitch developed a plan for a new line of ultra ships that would have brought Veitch and Virgin nearly $1 billion in profit over ten years. Veitch alleged Virgin breached their agreement to create the cruise ships, demanded a larger than agreed upon share of profits and later used his idea without consent to launch Virgin Cruises. In January 2016, the parties agreed to a confidential settlement.
