Q & A
What do you find most compelling about being a litigator?
In a word: strategy. Litigation involves the near constant development and refinement of strategy. I have always enjoyed developing, refining, and employing strategy to bring about my client's preferred resolution of a business dispute.
How do you define your relationship with your clients?
I engage with my clients as strategic partners. Together we outline and define the desired business objectives, formulate and refine a strategy for achieving those objectives, and work together to bring them to fruition, no matter how difficult or complex.
What do you consider to be the most valuable trait for any litigator?
Strength of character. Over the past thirteen years, I have observed and resolutely believe that a litigator's strength of character—his or her grit, resolve, courage, and resilience to persevere—correlates directly with the ability to bring about successful results in a business dispute. Litigators with great strength of character are the most effective advocates and problem solvers. I also value and employ methodical preparation and rely on my experience across a broad array of business disputes to anticipate, identify, and address legal roadblocks before they materialize.
