Representation of joint venture comprised of golf course owner and private developers in the redevelopment of the former Calusa golf course in Kendall, a suburban area of Miami. Designated as Parks and Recreation on the County's comprehensive plan, our team is seeking a re-designation of the land from golf course to a residential category. The redevelopment process has been especially complex because a restrictive covenant imposed by the County several decades ago during the zoning process limited the property to golf course use for a period of 99 years. The golf course has been closed for several years. The planned development allows for single family homes and townhomes.
