Handled very high volume of REO (real estate owned) sales throughout the United States for two of the largest special servicers of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) loans with the total purchase price well into the billions and number of properties well into the thousands. For auction sales, representation included pre-auction review of title and preparation of contracts for auction site and the post-auction sales process and closings. For traditional sales, representation included contract preparation and negotiation, and the post-execution sales process and closings. The largest was approximately $216 million, which was the sale of a major hotel project in Louisiana.
Handled billions of dollars in distressed debt related to modifications, extensions, forbearances, discounted payoffs, and deeds in lieu of foreclosure.
