Miami, Florida, December 18, 2008 Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced today that Litigation Group partner, Michael N. Kreitzer, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for The Wolfsonian Florida International University (FIU) Museum and to the Board of Directors for Friends of WLRN. Mr. Kreitzer's appointments mark more successes for the Bilzin Sumberg Cares community giving program.
The WolfsonianFIU is a museum and research center, located in the historic Miami Beach district, which uses objects to illustrate the persuasive power of art and design to explore what it means to be modern, and to tell the story of social, political, and technological changes that have transformed the world.
Friends of WLRN ("Friends") is a nonprofit organization, incorporated in 1974, whose purpose is to support WLRN Public Radio and Television, and generally to contribute to nurturing the quality and vitality of the public media in south Florida. Friends raises more than $6 million annually through individual giving by listeners and viewers, institutional on-air underwriting, and other grants and sponsorships from private individuals, corporations, and foundations. Friends is governed by a 26-member board representing a cross-section of community leaders.
Mr. Kreitzer has a broad commercial trial practice, with extensive experience in both jury and non-jury cases in state and federal trial courts, as well as appellate courts. His practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, lender liability and related financial institution litigation, construction litigation and shareholder and partnership disputes. He also represents clients in eminent domain concerns, trusts and probate matters, common carrier law and product liability disputes, as well as intellectual property claims, professional malpractice and commercial landlord/tenant disputes.
