Bilzin Sumberg's Scholars Program Benefits Students At University of Miami School of Law
Miami, FL The law firm of Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced today a $100,000 scholarship pledge to support law students at the University of Miami School of Law. The scholarships continue to be awarded over a ten year period. The Bilzin Sumberg Scholars program was conceived to support dedicated, hard working law students as they pursue a career within the legal community.
Each academic year, the ten-year program awards two deserving second and third year law students with a $5,000 scholarship. Recipients must possess a cumulative academic average within the top ten percent of their class. In addition to financially supporting various community organizations, the firm is also dedicated to providing active, volunteer service.
In 2007, the firm created an employee-driven community involvement program, Bilzin Sumberg Cares, the first and only of its kind organized by a South Florida law firm. Each year, Bilzin Sumberg Cares holds its annual Service Day, which benefits one local organization in the community. Past beneficiaries have included Southside Elementary, Seymour Gelber Adult Day Care Center and Phillis Wheatley Elementary School.
Bilzin Sumberg Cares and the Bilzin Sumberg Scholars program are both reminders of the firm's commitment to the South Florida community.
