Four Bilzin Sumberg Attorneys Win Top Dealmakers 2012
Miami, FL - Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP is pleased to announce that four of its attorneys have been named by the Daily Business Review as "Top Dealmakers of the Year" in South Florida.
Alan Axelrod, Chair of the firm's Corporate & Securities Group and David Schubauer, partner in the Corporate & Securities Group, Suzanne Amaducci, Chair of the firm's Hospitality Group and Karyl Argamasilla, an attorney in the Real Estate Group, were recognized for their work negotiating and closing some of the largest, most complex and significant deals of the past year.
Ms. Amaducci and Ms. Argamasilla won in the Hotels category for their successful representation of TotalBank in negotiations with a foreign borrower that wanted a loan on a South Beach hotel to build a second hotel in Surfside.
Mr. Axelrod and Mr. Schubauer won in the Corporate International category for closing a $402 million deal for TradeStation that included a cash tender offer and short-term merger.
Mr. Axelrod and Mr. Schubauer were also runners-up in the Corporate International category for representing China Fire & Security, a Beijing-based fire safety products company that decided to go private after trading on Nasdaq since 2006.
This was the second year in a row that Mr. Axelrod and Mr. Schubauer have been recipients of the Top Dealmakers awards; last year they were both finalists and Mr. Axelrod won the Distressed Real Estate Category.
The winners, announced at an awards luncheon on May 4th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami, were selected from more than 150 nominations in 12 categories and judged by Daily Business Review editors.
