Ilana Drescher Selected as Chair of the Antitrust & Trade Regulation Subcommittee of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section
MIAMI, FL - Bilzin Sumberg is proud to announce that Antitrust & Litigation Partner Ilana Drescher has been selected as the Chair of the Antitrust & Trade Regulation Subcommittee of the Florida Bar’s Business Law Section. Her role as Chair will begin on July 1, 2023.
As Chair, Ilana will work with the subcommittee members to support antitrust and trade regulations practitioners, increase awareness of antitrust and trade regulation issues, particularly those impacting the state of Florida, and assist in the career development of antitrust and trade regulation lawyers in Florida. The Subcommittee’s goals for the year include increasing the number of board certified antitrust and trade regulation lawyers in the state of Florida, circulating a monthly Antitrust and Trade Regulation newsletter, and creating a quarterly CLE program.
The subcommittee’s judicial chair is the Honorable Edward C. LaRose of the Second District Court of Appeal. The immediate past subcommittee chair is Dianne (Dee Dee) Fischer, of Sidley Austin.
As a partner in Bilzin Sumberg’s Litigation Group, Ilana guides clients through complex business litigation and antitrust disputes. She focuses her practice on representing major opt-out plaintiffs in price-fixing antitrust multidistrict litigation, and defending food and beverage companies and other consumer product businesses against false advertising, deceptive labeling, and products liability class action claims. Her recent high-profile class action and antitrust work includes securing a landmark $267 million jury verdict in the Capacitors antitrust litigation and representing some of the biggest names in the restaurant industry in the Broiler Chicken antitrust litigation.
