Description
Bilzin Sumberg is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support attorneys in our Environmental, Land Development & Government Relations group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of legal experience, preferably within a large law firm or real estate, land use, or government-facing practice. Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage a complex and dynamic calendar, including scheduling and coordinating meetings with clients, municipal officials, and regulatory agencies
• Track and calendar key deadlines, public hearings, and commission meetings across federal, state, county, and local jurisdictions
• Coordinate logistics and prepare materials for public hearings, agency meetings, and community presentations
• Maintain detailed tracking systems for development projects and regulatory matters through various stages of the approval process
• Conduct research on agency websites to obtain status updates on applications, permits, and related matters
• Coordinate with external consultants, including planners, engineers, and environmental specialists
• Prepare and submit conflict checks using Sunbiz and Property Appraiser resources
• Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and internal departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow
• Responsible for answering and managing a high volume of phone calls with professionalism and attention to detail
• Maintain and organize both electronic and physical files in accordance with attorney preferences
• Assist with lobbyist registrations and related compliance requirements across municipalities
• Manage expense reimbursements and administrative support tasks as needed
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift throughout the day, including handling urgent assignments at the end of the day that may require overtime
