Miami will serve as the first stop on the national fundraising tour of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and just days after its official ground breaking on the Washington Mall. Hosted at the law firm of Bilzin Sumberg, local leaders will gather to raise funds for this new and original museum. The Miami host committee includes local heavy-hitters such as former NBA star Alonzo Mourning; Exxon Mobile Executive Jesse Tyson; and Bilzin Sumberg shareholders Brian Bilzin, John Sumberg, Al Dotson, and Stanley Price. It is scheduled to open in 2015 and will be the 19th of the Smithsonian museums, and the last building constructed on the Washington Mall.
