An Intimate Discussion with Justice Rosemary Barkett

Sara B. Herald participated in a one-on-one discussion with The Honorable Rosemary Barkett on gender equality and women advancement in the legal profession. The wide-ranging discussion covered Justice Barkett’s experiences as an immigrant and her aspiration for pursuing a career in law, her experience as Florida’s first female Supreme Court Justice and as a U.S. appellate judge, and her current role on the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in The Hague. Participants were given the chance to ask Justice Barkett questions for insight on timely topics such as the debate over qualified immunity and the role of the ABA Rule of Law initiative in advancing women’s rights.
