Bilzin Sumberg Partners Named South Florida Top Dealmakers Of 2007
Miami, Florida, March 23, 2007 Three partners at the law firm of Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP have been named Top Dealmakers in South Florida by the Daily Business Review. Alan D. Axelrod, Robert M. Siegel and James W. Shindell were recognized at a luncheon held earlier today at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Miami.
Mr. Axelrod and Mr. Siegel won in the Corporate Finance category for their work on a $1.7 billion refinancing of a senior credit facility for LNR Property Corporation. Mr. Shindell took home the top prize in the Finance category for his work on a $280 million construction loan for the first phase of the EPIC condominium/hotel complex near the mouth of the Miami River.
In addition to the three top honors, Bilzin Sumberg partner Martin A. Schwartz was a finalist in the Hotels category for his deft handling of the sale of the Wyndham Aruba Resort, Spa and Casino, a matter in which he invoked an international treaty to help seal the deal.
Mr. Axelrod is the Chair of the Corporate & Securities Group at Bilzin Sumberg, and Mr. Siegel is a Partner in the same practice group. Mr. Shindell chairs the firm's Real Estate Group, and Mr. Schwartz is also a Partner in that group.
