Melissa Pallett-Vasquez Receives Lawyers For Children America 2012 Pro Bono Awards
Miami FL - Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that Litigation partner Melissa Pallett-Vasquez has been honored as recipients of the Lawyers for Children America (LFCA) 2012 Pro Bono Awards.
The annual Pro Bono Awards are presented to attorneys and firms committed to protecting the rights of children who are victims of abuse, abandonment and neglect. LFCA is a non-profit organization that provides free legal representation to dependent children and youth by enlisting the skills and resources of private attorneys and law firms.
The awards were presented at the 13th Annual John Edward Smith Child Advocacy Luncheon on June 29.
Melissa Pallett-Vasquez, litigation partner, has significant experience handling commercial litigation matters and international arbitrations, including the successful representation of banks in the arbitration of loan disputes and commercial contract disputes for clients in Brazil and Venezuela.
Many Bilzin Sumberg attorneys provide pro bono services to LFCA. In 2011, LFCA awarded Bilzin Sumberg the "Volunteer Firm of the Decade" award for its continued commitment to the organization. In addition, Adam F. Haimo, a partner in the firm's Litigation Group, is a member of the National Board of Directors.
