Miami-Dade County Mayor Proclaims June 15th "Albert E. Dotson, Jr. Day"
Miami - Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that the Mayor of Miami-Dade County proclaimed June 15th, 2012 as Albert E. Dotson, Jr. Day in recognition of Bilzin Sumberg's Land Use & Government Relations partner, Albert E. Dotson, Jr.
The Miami-Dade County Office of the Mayor and Board of County Commissioners issued the prestigious proclamation to honor Dotson for his many years of service to the community through his leadership roles in the organizations 100 Black Men of America, Inc. and the Orange Bowl Committee.
Dotson has served as national Chairman of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. for the past eight years. Under his leadership, the organization has grown to 116 chapters in the U.S., Europe, Africa,and the Caribbean, mentoring and empowering thousands of youth. Dotson was also the founding president of the organization's local chapter, 100 Black Men of South Florida, Inc. and served as its President for 10 years.
Dotson has been a member and past president of the Orange Bowl Committee for 20 years. He also serves as an appointee to the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission and is a past Chairman and member of the Overtown Youth Center board.
Mr. Dotson's practice encompasses federal and local government procurement contracts and compliance. He represents real estate developers in securing land use, zoning and other government approvals and permits for large-scale real estate developments.
