Environmental Partner Named 2013 "Urban And Regional Planning Distinguished Alumnus"

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced that Partner and Environmental Practice Group Chair, Howard E. Nelson, was named "Urban and Regional Planning Distinguished Alumnus for 2013" by the University of Florida's College of Design, Construction & Planning.

The Distinguished Alumni award is the department's highest alumni honor. Recipients are selected by the faculty for their outstanding accomplishments, merit and furtherance of the department's institutional mission and goals over time. Mr. Nelson will be recognized at an awards ceremony on April 19 in Gainesville, Florida. Mr. Nelson has over 20 years of experience in environmental and land use law and represents clients throughout all phases of the development process as well as in permit appeals and environmental enforcement matters. He is frequently recognized by legal publications including Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America, and Florida Super Lawyers.

In addition to maintaining a successful practice, Mr. Nelson is Chair of the City of Fort Lauderdale Code Enforcement Board, Co-Chair of the Environmental Sub-Committee of the Builders Association of South Florida (BASF), and a member of the South Florida Association of Environmental Professionals Board of Directors.
