Albert E. Dotson, Jr. Receives National Black MBA Association Award

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced that Government Relations & Land Development Practice Group Leader, Albert E. Dotson, Jr., was awarded the National Black MBA Association's President & CEO Award for Community and Social Justice Leadership.

Mr. Dotson was honored for his service to business and the community and his leadership in the organization 100 Black Men of America. "As a leader and pioneer [Mr. Dotson's] efforts have been the catalyst to encourage a generation of men and women to strive to achieve academic and professional success," said Jesse J. Tyson, Interim President & CEO of the National Black MBA Association. "The impact of such a dedicated individual is priceless and truly cannot be measured."

Mr. Dotson is chairman emeritus and a board member of 100 Black Men of America and served as the organization's national chairman for eight years. He was the founding president of its South Florida chapter and is currently a member of the executive committee. Mr. Dotson is also a board member and past president of The Orange Bowl Committee, a member of United Way of Miami-Dade's Advisory Council and serves on the HistoryMiami Board of Trustees.

Mr. Dotson represents clients in securing federal and local government procurement contracts and obtaining land use and zoning permits for large-scale real estate developments. As legal counsel in key public-private partnerships in South Florida, he represents SBACE in its $1 billion contract to redevelop the Miami Beach Convention Center District.
