Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that Scott N. Wagner, a Partner in the Litigation Group, is Chair of the Federal Bar Association Antitrust and Trade Regulation Section. Scott was elevated to Chair of the section September 19th after previously serving as Chair-Elect.

"I congratulate my fellow Section leaders on their appointments, and I am excited to work with some of the top minds in the antitrust field as Section Chair," Scott said. "With two years as Chair-Elect and broad antitrust experience, I am ready to work with my fellow Section leaders as we stay on top of developments in the antitrust arena. I also look forward to continuing the Section’s commitment to educating our colleagues about this complex field."

The Section sponsors programs about federal antitrust and trade regulations including legislation and procedural improvements affecting civil and criminal antitrust practice; enforcement exemptions and immunities; mergers and monopolies; premerger notification and remedies; activities of the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice; and class actions and arbitrations.

As Chair-Elect, Scott worked with other FBA leaders to foster a better understanding of the unique issues presented by antitrust law and lobbied members of Congress in support of the federal judiciary budget and a new federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale. Scott helped lead the Bilzin Sumberg team that participated in one of the largest antitrust cases in recent U.S. history, recovering over $300 million for major opt-out plaintiffs in LCD panel price-fixing litigation.

Scott focuses his practice on antitrust and other complex litigation. He regularly represents both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes litigation including federal multidistrict class actions, opt-out actions, multiple state class actions and international arbitrations, involving such issues as antitrust, intellectual property, products liability and qui tam matters.

In addition to his work with the Federal Bar Association, Scott also serves as the Membership Chair of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section’s Pre-Trial Practice and Discovery Committee and regularly speaks and writes on the topics of antitrust and e-discovery.

Scott has been recognized by legal publications such as Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation, South Florida Legal Guide and Florida Super Lawyers.
