Lawyers for Children America 2016 Pro Bono Award
The Lawyers for Children America's (LFCA) John Edward Smith Outstanding Law Firm Award was presented to Bilzin Sumberg for the Firm's exceptional pro bono service in providing high-quality legal assistance to abused, abandoned and neglected children and youth at LFCA's Child Advocacy Awards Luncheon on December 15, 2016. This was the sixth year Bilzin Sumberg was honored.
According to LFCA, "Bilzin Sumberg has been one of LFCA's strongest volunteer firms over the years. With the support of Managing Partner John Sumberg and Chief Operating Officer Michelle Weber, numerous volunteer attorneys from Bilzin Sumberg have provided pro bono legal assistance to multiple LFCA child clients."
The Firm previously received the Volunteer Firm of the Decade Award for providing the highest number of volunteer attorneys over a ten-year period. Through Bilzin Sumberg Cares, the Firm's community giving program, Bilzin Sumberg attorneys Mitchell Widom, Melissa Pallett-Vasquez and others provide pro bono legal assistance to LFCA and other non-profit institutions.
