Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce Business Finance & Restructuring Partner Jeffrey I. Snyder has been elected as a Director to the Board of Directors of the Bankruptcy Bar Association (BBA) of the Southern District of Florida for a three-year term commencing June 24, 2024. Jeffrey previously was elected to the Board and served a three-year term as Director from 2018-2021.
As a Partner in Bilzin Sumberg's Business Finance & Restructuring Group, Jeffrey guides landlords, secured and unsecured creditors, bankruptcy trustees, receivers, debtors, asset purchasers and others through a broad range of bankruptcy matters, receivership proceedings and out-of-court restructuring and workouts. Jeffrey handles defense of complex preference and other avoidance claims and represents borrowers, issuers, and lenders in connection with commercial loan transactions and capital market transactions. In addition to his client work, Jeffrey also serves as Assistant General Counsel for the Firm. Jeffrey also handles appellate work, handling chiefly bankruptcy appeals in federal court. He argued in front of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on behalf of a secured creditor in the Sagamore Hotel bankruptcy case. Jeffrey secured a decisive victory with a reversal in the case.
