Jennifer Wioncek Wins STEP Private Client Award

An international professional association for practitioners specializing in inheritance and succession planning, The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is one of the most prestigious industry organizations for estate planning in the world. As the recipient of the Geoffrey Shindler Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Profession, Jennifer was honored for her contribution to the wider private client advisor community and the public for 2021-2022 - most notably for her being a leading voice among practitioners in IRS comment projects related to the recently enacted US Corporate Transparency Act - which drastically reshapes the way in which many businesses and organizations are required to report to the federal government regarding their structure and beneficial owners.
The award cements Jennifer’s wide recognition as a highly experienced tax attorney with extensive expertise in handling the tax and succession planning needs of high net worth clients for domestic and cross-border families. Her broad practice covers international and domestic tax and estate planning issues, pre-immigration tax planning, expatriation tax planning, private trust company structuring, cross-border estate administration, tax structuring for real estate funds with foreign investors, and other tax structuring for investment into the United States, and the acquisition, maintenance, and sale of U.S. real estate by foreigners.
In addition to her membership in STEP and her role as current Director of its Miami Branch, Jennifer is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”), a professional organization of approximately 2,600 lawyers who have demonstrated the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence, and experience as trust and estate counselors. Passionate about education, Jennifer is also a long-time adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law Tax LL.M. program, where she teaches multiple classes in the area of trusts and estates.
