July 25, 2023

MIAMI, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is proud to announce that Sara Barli Herald has been recognized by Globe St. Real Estate Forum as one of their “Women of Influence” for 2023. Sara was named in the Special Recognition, Mentor category for a combination of her pro bono, public-private partnership, and affordable housing work in 2023. Women from across the country are selected for this award for having established reputations as successful, knowledgeable mentors through consistent outreach and support of others in the commercial real estate field.

As a Partner of Bilzin Sumberg’s Real Estate Practice, Sara's practice spans public-private partnerships, affordable housing, real estate, banking, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations. In addition, Sara works closely with Bilzin Sumberg’s Chief Legal Talent Officer to mentor associates with respect to their professional development and outside involvement with relevant industry and community organizations. Given Sara's extensive involvement in the community, she works one-on-one with Bilzin Sumberg associates to help them identify organizations for their own involvement.

Sara is also dedicated to helping women and children through her community involvement and pro bono work, including serving as legal counsel for Lotus House Women's Shelter, Casa Valentina and Casa Familia. She is a Founding Board Member of Alonzo Mourning Charities, Overtown Youth Center, and CARE School, and has served as a Board Member of Breakthrough Miami, Children's Bereavement Center, and The Orange Bowl Committee. Her personal mission is to help create systemic change to ensure young people actualize their potential, and her community engagement reflects her commitment to that mission.

Sara is the recipient of many awards for her pro bono work, including the American Red Cross Sara Hopkins Spectrum Award for Community Service and the Athena Award for Outstanding Business Woman. She has also been recognized by Chambers USA and by Daily Business Review’s Florida Legal Awards - Best Mentors.
