Q & A
How has your professional experience outside of law impacted your ability to serve your clients?
My career in land use and zoning has been strongly shaped by my prior experience as a development manager for several of South Florida’s largest real estate developers. Before practicing law, I was directly involved in projects spanning entitlements, financing, permitting, construction, and disposition. This end-to-end experience provided a practical understanding of the full development lifecycle and the critical role that land use and zoning strategy plays in project feasibility. It also trained me to approach legal matters with a solutions-oriented, business-focused perspective grounded in creativity, efficiency, and client objectives.
How has your involvement with industry organizations benefited your practice?
My active involvement with the Builders Association of South Florida (BASF) is highly beneficial because it provides direct opportunities to collaborate with industry professionals and government staff to address plan review delays and improve permitting and review procedures that affect our clients’ projects. My participation with BASF also gives me early insight into proposed legislation and regulatory changes, allowing me to proactively advise clients, adjust project strategies, and stay ahead of policy developments that may impact pending or future developments.
