When you join the Bilzin Sumberg team, you will work in an energetic, fast-paced environment alongside attorneys who are nationally recognized in their practice areas. Our firm enjoys a strong reputation within the legal community as being one of Florida's preeminent full-service law firms. Joining Bilzin Sumberg as a summer associate is the first step on the path to building a long-lasting, successful legal career.
Training And Mentoring
At Bilzin Sumberg, we believe that providing our summer associates with effective, diverse training programs helps expose them to important legal issues and maximize their opportunities for professional growth. Our training seminars provide summer associates with an inside look at the daily responsibilities, opportunities and issues our attorneys face every day. One such training program is our real estate mock transaction: a six-week program which provides participants with a realistic, step-by-step guide to the various legal considerations involved with completing a multi-faceted, multi-million dollar real estate transaction.
Each summer associate is paired with a mentor during their summer at Bilzin Sumberg. Your mentor acts as your advocate and serves as a guide to our firm’s practices, people, matters and clients. Mentors participate in recruitment, mid-summer and end-of-summer reviews and speak on behalf of the summer associates at the hiring committee meeting.
Connecting and Sharing Experiences
The Academy
We believe preparing our associates for meaningful careers extends beyond our successful Summer Associates Program. The Academy for Professional Development, Bilzin Sumberg's immersive two-week training program for first year associates, is the result of our desire to provide continued engagement for our new associates focused on the development of critical professional and intrapersonal skills. The Academy concentrates on four key components: 1) relationship building; 2) work-life balance; 3) social competence; and 4) effective writing. These factors are paramount to the development of legal professionals proficient in the law, who have a keen understanding of business practices and a strong network of relationships.
The Academy empowers our associates to achieve a larger perspective, enhancing our commitment to provide quality services to our clients while remaining at the forefront of an ever-changing marketplace.
