Ellina Berdichevsky is an Associate in Bilzin Sumberg's Tax & Private Wealth Group. She combines her LL.M. in Taxation with her background as a Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive) to advise clients on legal matters, including international and domestic corporate and individual tax planning, pre-immigration, trust and estate planning, gift tax, compliance, foreign and domestic offshore disclosure, Foreign Investment in Real Property Act, corporate reorganizations, partnerships, tax treaties, and inbound and outbound transactions. Her experience working with clients ranging from Fortune 500 publicly traded companies to high net worth individuals and small businesses gives Ellina a unique perspective with which to provide value to our clients.

What sets you apart from other tax attorneys?

Because of my background as a CPA, I am able to grasp nuanced tax issues to provide a tax strategy that addresses my clients' current and future needs. I have a deep understanding of how businesses work, and I am well versed in financial statements and ledgers. With my fluency in "the language of business," I am able to consider factors outside of just tax law and have an informed approach when solving my client's issues.

What is your approach to your client relationships?

As lawyers, we are expected to wear many hats, and I find this true to my practice. I counsel a client from the inception of their journey when they first venture into opening a new business, through seeing the business flourish, and becoming highly successful. I can help my clients throughout the entire life cycle of their endeavors by being adaptable and staying abreast of changing legislation and regulations that could affect them. I am a close confidant and trusted advisor to my clients, and I am comfortable making tough decisions when necessary.
