Q & A
How does your personal connection to Miami support your work as a land use attorney?
Growing up in Miami nurtured a strong connection to the city I call home and fueled my passion for shaping the way it evolves through the matters I work on with clients. Miami is still an incredibly young city, and I’ve always been fascinated by the opportunities for growth and development that exist here. I truly enjoy understanding how the landscape is changing in different parts of the metro area.
How has your experience working at the City of Miami Mayor’s office and at the City Commission helped your practice?
When I served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Mayor of the City of Miami, and before that as a Legislative Aide at the City Commission, I was able to see first-hand how government plays a role in development. When it comes to housing and other real estate assets, Miami’s stakeholders are quite diverse in their interests and priorities, all of which government needs to take into account. Working with the Mayor to respond to the needs of Miami’s myriad stakeholders gave me a unique opportunity to grow as a professional and deepen my understanding of the community.
