Q & A
What do you find most rewarding about practicing in tax and estate planning?
I enjoy helping families protect what they have worked to create for their loved ones, giving them the peace of mind of knowing that their needs and desires have been met through appropriate estate plans and prudent tax planning. I also appreciate the wide scope for crafting creative solutions tailored to the unique situation of each client. I am regularly presented with complex situations that involve a range of considerations across borders and jurisdictions, thereby requiring a fresh look and a range of potential strategies. Thinking through the options and helping clients understand what’s best for them is both intellectually challenging and rewarding.
How has your involvement in the Tax Section of the Florida Bar strengthened your practice?
I currently serve as a Director-at-Large of the Tax Section, building on years of previous involvement in the Section’s Education Division, Federal Tax Division, and Media and Marketing Division. My active participation and leadership roles with the Tax Section have been indispensable in keeping me abreast of the ever-changing nature of tax laws and industry best practices, which in turn critically informs my counsel to clients. I view it as an important part of my role as a practitioner to keep clients updated and informed about whatever may affect them, and the exchange of knowledge and insights that I experience from my involvement with the Tax Section certainly supports this.
