The litigation aims to recover approximately $2.5 billion of proceeds from a leveraged buyout that culminated in the bankruptcy of the Tribune. The Tribune was the publisher of the Chicago Tribune and the LA Times, among others, as well as the owner of TV and radio stations throughout the United States.
