Historic Preservation of Bacardi Corporate Headquarters in Miami

Bacardi U.S.A., Inc.

Counsel to Bacardi USA, Inc., in the historic designation of Bacardi's corporate headquarters in Miami. The City of Miami initiated the historic landmark designation process, which would restrict development rights on significant portions of the property. We worked to minimize the financial impact of the designation for Bacardi, negotiating with City staff and representing Bacardi at public hearings before the Historic and Environmental Preservation Board and City Commission. We provided significant due diligence in order to arrive at a solution that would achieve the City's goals of historic designation while preserving Bacardi's rights for future development of non-historic components.
