Albert E. Dotson Jr. Installed As 68th President Of Orange Bowl Committee

Miami, Florida, February 6, 2006  Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Partner in Bilzin Sumberg's Land Use & Government Relations Group, was installed as the 68th President of the Orange Bowl Committee (OBC) on Thursday, February 2, 2006 in Coral Gables.

Mr. Dotson will preside over the Orange Bowl Committee for the 2006-07 Festival, which includes the 73rd Annual FedEx Orange Bowl, the 13th Annual MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic and the eighth season of the Orange Bowl Youth Football League. The FedEx Orange Bowl will take place January 2, 2007 at the Miami Dolphin's Stadium in Miami Gardens.

At Bilzin Sumberg, Mr. Dotson focuses his practice on land use and government relations matters, with a special emphasis on federal and local government procurement contracts and compliance. He negotiates economic development incentive programs on behalf of major U.S. corporate clients, and he often represents real estate developers in securing land use, zoning and other government approvals and permits for large-scale projects.

Mr. Dotson is a well-received and respected member of the South Florida community who has received countless accolades for his hard work and dedication to many causes on both local and national levels. He has been recognized in Ebony Magazines "100 Most Influential Black Americans" (2005), Daily Business Reviews "Most Effective Lawyers" (2005), Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerces National Business Leader of the Year (2005), Florida Trends "Legal Elite" (2004), and the South Florida Business Journals "Corporate Elite in the Practice of Law" (1999), among others. His community and professional involvement includes 100 Black Men of America (National Chairman and founder of the South Florida Chapter), Overtown Youth Center (Chairman of the Board of Directors), Dade County Bar Association Blue Ribbon Commission on Judicial Campaigns, Superbowl XLI Host Committee (Co-Chair), Alliance for Ethical Government (Executive Committee), and the Joint Civilian Orientation Conference.

Mr. Dotson received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1982 and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1987. He and wife, Gail Ash Dotson, have two children, Ashley, and Albert III.

The Orange Bowl Committee is a not-for-profit, 317-member, all-volunteer organization that exists as a self-sustaining, independent organization supporting and producing activities and events which enhance the image, economy, and culture of South Florida. The tradition that began as little more than a New Years Day football game between Bucknell and the University of Miami has grown into the annual Orange Bowl Festival the single largest tourist attraction in South Florida.
