Bilzin Sumberg Reception Celebrates Launch of AnsaldoBreda's Miami-Dade Rail Car Project
Miami - On January 9, Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP hosted a reception to celebrate the launch of the Miami-Dade County Rail Car Project. Italian global transportation company, AnsaldoBreda, will replace the existing aging Metrorail trains with 136 modern, heavy rail vehicles.
Miami-Dade Transit awarded the $300 million contract to Bilzin Sumberg's client, AnsaldoBreda, to build the new fleet of Metrorail cars. The new cars will be equipped with LED lighting, Wi-Fi, a CCTV security system, and bicycle racks, and will be assembled by AnsaldoBreda at a new plant to be built in the Miami area.
Miami-Dade County Mayor, Carlos Gimenez, and AnsaldoBreda, Inc. President, Giancarlo Fantappiè, attended the event. The Italian Consul General, County Commissioners, County Department heads, Assistant County Attorneys, Transit Department staff, AnsaldoBreda personnel from Italy and California, and Bilzin Sumberg attorneys were also in attendance.
The reception was held at Bilzin Sumberg's Brickell office.
