Miami, FL – As part of the Bilzin Sumberg Cares community involvement initiative, members of the law firm Bilzin Sumberg recently participated in the First Annual Lotus House Spring Community Service Day. Along with 200 other volunteers, Bilzin Sumberg attorneys and staff spent the day repainting 32 apartments at the shelter for homeless women and infants in Overtown, Miami.

Bilzin Sumberg Cares provides attorneys, employees and their families with volunteer opportunities to work together to benefit charitable organizations in South Florida and beyond. Now in its sixth year, Bilzin Sumberg Cares has partnered with organizations including the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics Miami-Dade County, United Way of Miami-Dade, Voices for Children Foundation and numerous other non-profit organizations.

Bilzin Sumberg managing partner, John C. Sumberg, is a member of the Sundari Foundation Board of Directors, the public charity that created the Lotus House Women's Shelter.

Lotus House is a resource center and residential facility that seeks to empower women to break the cycle of homelessness, achieve greater self-sufficiency and transition to permanent homes.
