MIAMI, FL - Bilzin Sumberg announced it was honored as a recipient of Lawyers for Children America's (LFCA) John Edward Smith Outstanding Law Firm Award. The Firm was recognized for its exceptional pro bono service in providing high-quality legal assistance to abused, abandoned and neglected children and youth at LFCA's Child Advocacy Awards Luncheon. This was the fifth year Bilzin Sumberg was honored.
According to LFCA, "Bilzin Sumberg has been one of LFCA's strongest volunteer firms over the years. With the support of Managing Partner John Sumberg and Chief Operating Officer Michelle Weber, numerous volunteer attorneys from Bilzin Sumberg have provided pro bono legal assistance to multiple LFCA child clients."
The Firm previously received the Volunteer Firm of the Decade Award for providing the highest number of volunteer attorneys over a ten-year period. Through Bilzin Sumberg Cares, the Firm's community giving program, Bilzin Sumberg attorneys Mitchell E. Widom, Melissa Pallett-Vasquez, Naomi R. Alzate, Jessica Silver and others provide pro bono legal assistance to LFCA and other non-profit institutions.
LFCA is a non-profit child advocacy organization that provides pro bono legal representation to children who are victims of abuse, abandonment and neglect. LFCA recruits, trains and supports volunteer lawyers who serve as attorneys for dependent children and protect their legal rights.
