September 20, 2016
Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that for the second consecutive year it is a finalist for Legal Advisor of the Year at the P3 Awards 2016. The winner of the top law firm for public-private partnerships (P3) will be announced October 27 at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

The P3 Legal Advisor of the Year award comes at the end of the P3 Hub Americas 2016 conference, where leading public-private partnership figures from three regions (United States, Canada, and Latin America) meet to discuss P3 innovations over the past year and to predict where P3 work is headed in 2017.

Bilzin Sumberg is a finalist among other firms headquartered in England, Canada and Brazil as well as some of the nation's largest firms, including DLA Piper (ranked No. 2 in the National Law Journal 500), Norton Rose Fulbright (3), Mayer Brown (15), and Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe (31).

Bilzin Sumberg's P3 team, led by Al Dotson Jr., provides legal representation on multibillion-dollar public-private partnerships in Florida. The Firm's P3 experience includes rail and transit facilities, airports, marinas, sports facilities, convention centers, healthcare/life sciences facilities, educational institutions, water and sewer facilities, and parking structures.

Bilzin Sumberg hosted the two-day P3 Hub South conference in February that included Al Dotson chairing a series of roundtable meetings on Day 1. Eric Singer, an Associate in the Land Development & Government Relations Group, was the keynote speaker the second day with "The Political Landscape in the South."

Bilzin Sumberg's projects that have the Firm as a finalist include representing CH2M in winning Miami-Dade County's $3.3 billion Ocean Outfall Legislation contract; representing All Aboard Florida as it develops part of the $2.4 billion high-speed passenger rail project connecting South and Central Florida; helping an Italian company secure a $300 million contract for 136 new Metrorail cars; representing the developer of a $1 billion, 52-acre mixed-use project in Bridgeport, Connecticut; and leading the owners of the Miami Dolphins and the former Sun Life Stadium in negotiations with Miami-Dade County for the recently completed $400 million stadium modernization project.
