Three Bilzin Sumberg Attorneys to Present CLE Programs at Association of Corporate Counsel Event

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that three of its attorneys are scheduled to present Continuing Legal Education programs at the Association of Corporate Counsel's seventh annual CLE Conference.

Partners Melissa Pallett-Vasquez, and Jose Sariego are speakers for the conference on September 30 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. The theme of this year's conference is "Vote USA 2016: In-House… Your Voice and Your Vote Matters."

Melissa will speak on "A Case of First Impressions: A Dynamic and Entertaining Review of Legal Ethics, Professionalism, and the Public's (Mis)perception of Lawyers."

Jose Sariego is part of a five-person panel presenting "Webzilla: How the Internet Is Stomping Business Models, Zapping Legal Norms & Crushing Career Paths."

The CLE Conference offers a choice of three tracks with up to seven CLE hours available. The keynote luncheon speaker is Olympic gold medalist gymnast Shannon Miller, who has a law degree from Boston College. After a bout with cancer, she writes and speaks about wellness issues.

Melissa, a Partner in the Litigation Group, handles complex commercial litigation matters, arbitrations, and class action defense work with an emphasis on consumer products and the food and beverage industry. Melissa has represented clients in real estate-related contracts, partnership and joint venture agreements, defense of intentional tort claims, internal investigations, and intellectual property litigation. Melissa has been a "40 Under 40" honoree by both the Daily Business Review and the South Florida Business Journal, and Florida Super Lawyers recognizes her as a "Florida Rising Star."

Jose Sariego, a Partner in the Corporate Group, has more than 25 years of experience in international media, entertainment and transactional law. Jose has negotiated and closed multimillion-dollar licensing and distribution deals in the U.S. and internationally, and has led complex negotiations for programming with some of the largest media companies in Latin America. Jose also has negotiated and closed talent and other agreements involving international sports stars and has handled programming deals for World Cup soccer, NFL football, and other sports. He is an adjunct professor of Media & Entertainment in the Digital Age at the University of Miami Law School.
