Andrej Micovic Newest Addition to Land Development & Government Relations Group
Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce Andrej Micovic has joined the Firm as an Associate in the Land Development & Government Relations Practice Group. Andrej brings substantial public-private partnership (P3), procurement, and project finance experience to the Firm.
Andrej's practice is focused on the development, procurement, financing, construction, and purchase and sale of infrastructure and energy projects in the United States and throughout Latin America. Among his experience, he has been involved in high-value P3 projects including the successful bid for the multi-billion Red Compartida wholesale broadband network in Mexico; the $2.3 billion dollar I-4 Ultimate Improvement Project, a P3 to rebuild Interstate 4 in Central Florida; the $899 million Pennsylvania Bridge Replacement, a P3 that replaced 558 aging bridges in Pennsylvania; and the project bond financing of Mexico’s largest highway concessionaire.
Frequently involved in cross-border matters, Andrej speaks fluent Spanish and Italian, and is a native Croatian speaker. He earned his law degree from Cornell University and graduated from the University of Miami with his Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
Andrej's unique P3 finance experience serves to complement the Firm's existing robust P3 and procurement portfolio. The Firm's P3 team, led by Land Development & Government Relations attorneys Albert E. Dotson, Jr. and Eric Singer, has successfully counseled some of South Florida's most influential P3 projects including All Aboard Florida, the $2.4 billion high-speed passenger rail, which will in part solve traffic issues in South Florida when it opens later this year, and CH2M's winning bid for Miami-Dade County's $4 billion Ocean Outfall Legislation program, which will cease all wastewater discharge into the ocean by 2025.
Known throughout the region as a leader in counseling P3 and procurement clients, Bilzin Sumberg was named a finalist for the national P3 Legal Advisor of the Year Award by P3 Hub Americas for the third consecutive year. The annual award recognizes the legal team with the greatest achievements in P3s in the United States and this year Bilzin Sumberg was recognized as a finalist alongside some of the nation's largest firms.
