Miami, FL –  Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that Managing Partner, Albert E, Dotson, Jr., and the Dotson Family, have been recognized at the Donor Next Door for their support of the Baptist Health South Florida Foundation.

The Dotson Family’s philanthropic contribution seeks to fund Baptist Health’s efforts to provide patients with professional care supported by the latest technology, including the care provided through Free Health Clinics and the Miami Cancer Institute. For many years, Albert Dotson, Sr. served as a board member at Baptist Health and has remained actively engaged with the organization.

"Albert and Earlene Dotson, Sr. have made philanthropy and community service a part of The Dotson Family ethos since their union,"' said Dotson, Jr. "We are delighted to participate as this is a great opportunity to assist Baptist Health Foundation in informing others of the organization's outstanding work,"

As Bilzin Sumberg's Managing Partner, Dotson Jr. continues with the firm's legacy of community service by ensuring that attorneys and staff alike participate in charitable projects through programs like Bilzin Sumberg Cares and the Matters of the Heart Pro Bono Program, both aimed at creating opportunities for community involvement, promoting a sense of social responsibility and a "pay it forward" mentality.

Dotson Jr.'s commitment to give back to the community also reflects on his practice and the types of projects in which he is involved. As a pioneer in Public-Private Partnerships (P3s), Al frequently represents both financial sponsors and grantors in major P3s across Florida and the United States, with a focus on water, transportation, and social infrastructure. He has actively advocated for greater adoption of P3 legislation to spur private investment in public infrastructure.

The Donor Next Door is part of Philanthropy Miami's efforts to inspire people to make charitable bequests. The event is one of the best opportunities of the year for nonprofits across Greater Miami to publicly recognize one of their most valued donors or volunteers and to bring awareness to the organization’s mission.
