Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce Litigation Partner Mitchell E. Widom has been inducted as a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL). The IATL, an international legal association recognized as one of the most prestigious organizations of trial lawyers in the world, limits this fellowship to 500 active trial lawyers in the United States.

Fellows are selected for achieving a career of excellence as shown by their skills in trial, and as demonstrated by their integrity and professionalism. Members are often heavily involved in pro bono efforts and generously contribute their time and resources to their local communities.

Complimenting his induction into IATL, Mitch’s Fellowship with the esteemed American College of Trial Lawyers also reflects his notoriety and expertise in the litigation field. A seasoned trial attorney, Mitch has extensive expertise in class action and complex product liability litigation. He also helps clients untangle and solve complex partnership disputes. Among other civil matters, he has handled litigation involving class actions, multi-district litigation, antitrust, probate and will contests, construction, intellectual property, partnership disputes, insurance, land use litigation, and bankruptcy preference and fraudulent transfers. He has represented major corporate defendants in lengthy, and prominent, jury trials, and he has been appointed over 25 times by judges in Miami-Dade County to act as a Special Master for evidentiary hearings and discovery disputes.

Mitch is consistently recognized for his professional achievements by prominent legal publications including Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation and The Best Lawyers in America

Passionate about giving back to the community, Mitch and his family founded The Keymorada Invitational Fishing Tournament to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America in 2005. The event, now in its eighteenth year, has now raised over $8 million for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation and the University of Miami's Crohn's & Colitis Center.
