New Miami blog will feature expert commentary on Miami’s emergence into an international destination and center of commerce
Press Release

Miami-based law firm Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod has launched New Miami, a unique blog focused on the gateway city’s expanding global significance and emergence as an international center of commerce, culture, arts and entertainment. The blog, found at www.newmiamiblog.com will focus on a variety of topics across practices and industries, including international litigation and arbitration, real estate investment and land development, financing, foreign investment and tax planning, and hospitality, among others.

With rotating featured writers from Bilzin Sumberg, as well as guest commentators from Miami’s diverse business community, the New Miami blog will provide insight into how the city is growing in international significance as it continues to attract unmatched levels of investment from Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Along these lines, the blog will serve as a resource for media, investors, business and legal professionals who are interested in what is fueling Miami from an economic and cultural standpoint.

According to Bilzin Sumberg managing partner John Sumberg, Miami is undergoing one of the most significant transformations in its collective history with a new zoning code in place; foreign nationals looking to make it their home; multinational corporations establishing it as a base and acquiring local companies; a real estate market that is beginning to re-surge with the purchase and sale of distressed properties; a flourishing arts and cultural scene; and the reemergence of hotels and commercial properties.

“In a few short years Miami has transformed itself from being an outpost for Latin America to an epicenter of commerce on a global scale,” said Mr. Sumberg. “Investors are flooding the area to capitalize on the area's high-end assets and attractiveness as a destination, and Bilzin Sumberg and its attorneys are at the center of this action.”

The blog will be authored by a wide array of partners across practice groups who are integral to Miami’s renewal, including international arbitration and litigation, real estate, inbound investment, land use and tax planning. Additionally, the blog will regularly feature leading voices from the Miami business community to provide alternative viewpoints on what is driving Miami’s economy forward.
