Suzanne is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), a prestigious fellowship reserved for lawyers distinguished for their skill, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law.

Suzanne advises developers and owners across every stage of their investments, and also works with alternative finance lenders, institutional investors, family offices, and publicly traded companies. She is very active in the areas of marina acquisition – Suzanne and her team have closed over $1 billion in marina transactions. Suzanne is also active in hotel acquisition, finance, and development and mixed use development, leading the Firm’s Hospitality Group.

Q & A
What is one thing that you are urging all of your clients to focus on right now?
Because of various regulations and changes within the real estate industry, credit markets are getting tighter. I encourage my clients to think about financing early. If it can be secured at a great interest rate, or they are attempting to secure a large sum, I encourage my clients to jump at the opportunity, even if they don’t use the funds right away.
How do you stay connected to trends and changes in the industry?
Although we do work nationally, ground zero for us is Miami. Staying aware of current events, transactions and the status of the economy is the only way to recognize what’s ahead. When the economy turned in 2008, I was prepared to help my clients through it.
How does Bilzin Sumberg’s commitment to community impact your work and life?
We have a long-term vision for what the City of Miami can be. Our work supporting public transportation and transit oriented development will help connect different areas of the community. When we work to improve the community, we prosper, which in turn helps our clients prosper. In the end, it just makes good sense for everyone.
