Bilzin Sumberg possesses robust experience in representing clients in all facets of the sports, media and entertainment industry. Of note is the firm's work involving sports facilities and entertainment venues. This work has included representing clients in the sale and disposition of entertainment real estate, negotiation of contracts for construction and renovation of major sports venues, resolution of disputes arising during construction, design and construction defect and delay litigation, and the negotiation of ground leases and master leases.

The financing of sports and entertainment facilities is complex, often requiring a mix of multiple public and private sources, and Bilzin Sumberg brings substantial experience in project finance, public-private partnerships, and economic incentives, including the development of new economic-incentive programs designed to meet the needs of a particular project. Bilzin Sumberg’s attorneys also assist their clients in the structuring and negotiation of agreements related to the operation, maintenance, and shared-use of sports and entertainment facilities, including long-term public-private partnership agreements.

Bilzin Sumberg attorneys also represent the interests of athletes and entertainers in the negotiation of talent agreements, endorsement deals, and brand licensing agreements. The firm has represented media and entertainment companies in the negotiation and documentation of development, production, licensing and other industry agreements, and provides copyright and trademark advice and state and federal registration services. One of the firm's partners was formerly the General Counsel of HBO Latin America and the head of Business Affairs for NBC Universal/Telemundo Network, and teaches Media & Entertainment Law in the Digital Age at the University of Miami Law School.

The firm litigates contract disputes, intellectual property issues, and copyright and trademark infringements, and uses tax strategies to protect client wealth. Our clients include U.S. and foreign professional athletes, recording artists, television, motion picture and internet actors and influencers, producers, networks, studios, broadcasters and other industry players.
